The objective of the project was to give a detailed country-by-country account of the increase in forest resources in Europe in 1950-1990. This expansion, in standing volume and to a lesser extent in area, is a continuation of a trend that began during the nineteenth century. The analysis is based on the data of the UN-ECE/FAO 1990 Forest Resources Assessment.
The results of this project have been published in EFI Research Report 1.
