EFI launches new Network Fund call on forest biodiversity

EFI has launched its 2026 Network Fund call, supporting knowledge exchange, capacity building and cooperation among EFI member organisations.

This year’s theme for the call is “Forest biodiversity: Building capacity and shared knowledge for resilient forests and society”. Approaches to monitoring forest biodiversity, developing incentive mechanisms and integrating biodiversity into the provision of forest ecosystem services vary considerably across Europe. At the same time, EFI member organisations hold extensive knowledge and practical experience in these areas.

The Network Fund call provides an opportunity to bring this expertise together. It will enable EFI member organisations to learn from one another, strengthen their capacities and build a broader understanding of the knowledge and experience available across the network and beyond. This shared understanding can help shape effective solutions to emerging challenges in forest biodiversity.

Proposed activities should deliver practical value for participating organisations, strengthen connections across the EFI network, and lay the groundwork for future collaboration. Particular attention should be given to building the capacities of early-career professionals.
