Caroline Haywood

Caroline is an environmental legal and policy expert with over 12 years of experience addressing global sustainable development and governance challenges. She holds an LLB in Law and a BA in Modern Languages from the Australian National University and an LLM in Environmental Law from McGill University (Canada). 

Working at EFI since 2026, Caroline provides expert support to timber trade agreements (VPAs) between EU and partner countries in Africa. She specialises in forest governance, land and tenure rights and participatory legal reform and has worked across sub-Saharan Africa to strengthen law and policy responses to natural resource governance.
