With more than 25 years of international experience, Robert's work focuses on forest research, the bioeconomy, ecosystem services, and finding practical ways to make sustainability work beyond conference slides.

He spends much of his time connecting people, ideas, and forests, usually in that order.

Trained both as a forester and an economist, he holds an MSc in Forestry and a PhD in Economics. This combination allows him to move comfortably between discussions about forests, policy, and budgets.

He believes that good forest policy starts with listening, cooperation, and solid science. He enjoys bringing together different perspectives, encouraging dialogue, and helping turn complex challenges into workable solutions. He remains convinced that forests, when managed wisely, can support climate resilience, biodiversity, livelihoods, and occasionally provide a useful life lesson too.
