Tuula Packalen
Tuula Packalen is a Research Professor in Forest Planning at the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke). Prior to her current position, Professor Packalen served as Director General of the Department of Natural Resources at Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland.
Internationally, Professor Packalen has worked as Head of Forest Resources and Information at the European Forest Institute (EFI) as well as coordinating the COST Action involving 28 countries, “Orchestrating Forest-Related Policy Analysis in Europe” (ORCHESTRA) and the Horizon 2020 project “Distributed, Integrated and Harmonised Forest Information for Bioeconomy Outlooks” (DIABOLO).
She has represented Finland in the European Commission’s SCAR Bioeconomy Strategic Working Group and in the UNECE/FAO Teams of Specialists (ToS) on Sustainable Forest Management, Forest Sector Outlook, and Forest Policy.
