This pre-conference workshop introduces horizon scanning techniques which enable users to detect and interpret phenomena that may shape forest futures and can be integrated into research agendas and action plans. The workshop is aimed at EFI members and affiliates, as well as anyone who is “future-curious” about forestry.
Over the course of the workshop, participants will:
- understand how Horizon Scanning of the operating environment of forest use can be implemented
- generate insights via collaboratively interpreting a couple of change signals with respect to their potential transformative leverage
- co-create an update on the state-of-the-art opportunities and challenges of Horizon Scanning within the forest-based sector
