Mats holds a M.Sc. degree in forest sciences and forest ecology from the Georg-August University Göttingen, Germany. His research is focused on the interactions between forest ecosystem service provisioning and forest management under ongoing climate change with transforming disturbance regimes.
In his work, he uses quantitative methods, such as forest dynamics modelling, to explore management, climate and disturbance scenarios regarding ecosystem service provisioning shifts.
