Thomas Sembres
Thomas supports partnerships on deforestation-free supply chains, building on his experience across the palm oil, cocoa and coffee sectors. He leads EFI’s engagement with EU Competent Authorities on EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and our engagement in Ethiopia. He ensures technical coordination of our expert team in support to tropical partner countries. He developed specific decision-support tools such as the EFI Land-use Planner and coordinates the development of open-access solutions for sustainable land use.
Thomas previously worked at the UN Environment Programme (Kenya), the World Bank (United States) and philanthropic foundations. He has a background in environmental policy from Cambridge University.
