Resilient landscapes to face catastrophic forest fires

Venue

The venue for the event will be the Instituto de la Ingeniería de España (Spanish Institute of Engineering), in Madrid's central Chamberí district, which offers the participants of the event attractive restaurants, art galleries and shops featuring a traditional aristocratic essence. 

The Spanish Institute of Engineering is the federation of Associations of Higher Engineers (Aeronautics, Agronomists, Foresters, Miners, Industrial Engineers, Telecommunications, Naval Engineers, Civil Engineers) in Spain and integrates more than 100,000 engineers of diverse specialties, who develop their activity both in the public and private sector. It was created in 1905 under the honorary presidency of the Spanish Head of State and is officially declared a Public Utility Entity.

 

 

Accreditation 

For security reasons, all participants must be accredited and in possession of their identification card at all times, including at social events. Participants will receive their badges at the registration desk upon arrival at the Conference at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, 14 October

Please note that the access to the conference room will be restricted to those wearing their identification badges.

 

Social Events & Technical Visit

Please kindly note that the reception cocktail on 14 October will take place between 18:00 and 20:00 hours after the day's sessions at the same location. 

On October 15, two tours will be organised for those attending the event. A group will visit the Firefighting Operations Centre (CCINF) at the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the other one will go to the Forestry Research Centre (CIFOR) of the National Institute of Agrofood Research of Spain, where they will be able to learn more about its Forest Fire Lab.
