Robert Mavsar is the Director of the European Forest Institute, responsible for the overall leadership and strategic development of the Institute.
With a strong international track record spanning over 25 years, he specializes in forest research development, bioeconomy, economic valuation of ecosystem services, and innovative business models for forest products. He holds a PhD in economics and an MSc in forestry.
He is a strong advocate for collaborative approaches to science and social dialogue, particularly in shaping responsible and effective forest policies. With his commitment to engagement, sustainability and innovation he is contributing to advancing the institute's mission and fostering positive change within the forestry sector.
