Join the Forest Meeting #2: futures oriented indicators, the second of a series of thought provoking, informative and inspiring conversations on how we can value and work with the forest in old, changed and entirely new ways.

The purpose of Forest Meetings is to create an open, safe, constructive and knowledge-based meeting place for discussions and collaboration around one of the core issues of the future - the forest. Forest Meetings is about adopting an uncompromisingly systemic perspective on the forest issue. We will bring together climate and biodiversity issues, health and justice issues, cultural and industrial perspectives - and more. This systemic approach is informed by dialogue with a wide range of stakeholders who highlight the complexity, compartmentalization and polarizations in the debate as barriers to important change work. The host of Forest Meetings is the knowledge environment Green Sustainable Development, Linnaeus University, with expertise from many different disciplines at university and stakeholders in society. The facilitators are a team with expertise in creating constructive meetings between different types of stakeholders.

This Forest Meeting takes place on 19 October, 3-5.30pm Swedish time, 2.3-4.30pm UTC via Zoom.

It will focus on which indicators can motivate forest work that takes us into a future that we all wish to live. The previous meeting focused on collaborations across multiple forest stakeholders. Future meetings will focus on myths and facts related to forest and possibilities for innovation. The meetings take place in English (or Smålish – the English we speak in Småland, the southern region of Sweden where we are based) and will take place in an inclusive and engaging way.
