Being a member of the Policy Support Trust Fund has allowed us to exchange views with other countries proactively, learn how they address forest-related issues, and find concrete answers and solutions together. The Trust Fund is a platform where we can discuss issues of mutual interest, stimulate new projects and explore the possibility of funding ad hoc studies that could be useful and beneficial to all. EFI is a dynamic, open, and transparent institution, and working with them is always a pleasure. As members of the Trust Fund for Policy Support, we particularly value the scientific rigour of their work and their ability to present complex findings in a way that is accessible and useful for decision-makers. The outputs produced through the Trust Fund are consistently well-focused and highly relevant to our Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic challenge in Spain. Being a member of the Policy Support Trust Fund enables us to work with other countries to identify forest policy issues of transboundary importance and to pool financial resources in order to develop science-based policy recommendations. Complex issues and scientific findings are also analyzed, which we then use to shape policy. Joining the Fund opens up new opportunities for collaboration. Thanks to the financial contribution of the member countries, the Fund can act independently of sponsors and the like and perform its tasks impartially.
