The objective of the project was to produce:
- consolidated reviews of the greenhouse gas budget for all relevant landscape elements of the European biosphere;
- consolidated data reviews of direct human greenhouse gas emissions for all relevant source categories (energy, technical processes, solvent use, landfills, etc.);
- European maps of the monthly greenhouse gas budget;
- recommendations for optimisation and methodological needs for improving our capability for quantifications of a consolidated European GHG balance by 2010;
- integration of scientific results in policy scenarios and EU negotiation strategy.
