The objective of the project was to estimate the site index by the forest production of the best adapted material (provenances) on the site, and to connect this site index to climate data. The aim was to give a basis for estimating the change in forest production due to possible global warming. This was done by the use of a provenance test with field tests in Canada, Sweden and Finland. This project consisted of two stages:
- As a measure of site productivity (site index), an estimate of the production of the best provenances (Ca 5-10) on each test site was made.
- Connecting the site index to climate data for the test site or adjacent climate stations.
