The first objective of this project was to develop a forest sector model which shall be a tool for making consistent 'what if' -type of analysis on how the European forest sector (forestry and forest industry) would be influenced by significant (structural) changes within and outside the sector. The second objective was to use the model for analysing the impact on the European wood chain of exogenous changes related to changed wood supply in various regions, and for analysing which of the model assumptions are the most decisive for the results arrived at.
