SENSOR - Sustainability Impact Assessment: Tools for Environmental, Social and Economic Effects of Multifunctional Land Use in European Regions

The SENSOR project was an Integrated Project under EU's 6th Framework Programme co-ordinated by Leibniz-Centre for Agricultural Landscape and Land Use Research, Germany, and participated by 35 research institutes throughout Europe. The aim of SENSOR was to develop ex-ante Sustainability Impact Assessment Tools (SIAT) to support decision making on policies related to multifunctional land use in European regions. The tools will enable the economic valuation of social and environmental goods and services, and will also address region-specific problems, risks and thresholds of sustainability.

EFI's role in the project was to project European scale multifunctional forest sector land management, to participate in the sustainability assessment of European land use scenarios, the elaboration of data protocols and system design, and participation in the integrated data management system.
