Carlos is a senior environmental expert in forest and land-use monitoring, with more than 12 years of international experience in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
His work focuses on the interface between environmental policy implementation, land-use governance, and sustainable agricultural value chains. He advises governments and international partners on the design and operationalization of policies and regulatory frameworks, including EUDR compliance and REDD+ initiatives.
Carlos plays a key role in coordinating multi-stakeholder processes, bringing together public institutions, private sector actors, and development partners to support integrated approaches to forest conservation, sustainable production, and landscape management. He combines policy expertise with strong technical skills in geospatial analysis, Earth Observation, and forest monitoring systems to support evidence-based decision-making.
