Dr. Carmen Rodríguez Fernández-Blanco (female) is a Researcher at the European Forest Institute (EFI). She holds an MSc in Forestry by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) and a PhD in Geography by KU Leuven (Belgium). 

Her research focuses on the social dimension of wildfires, and she is particularly interested on how different governance arrangements social innovation processes contribute to resilience and sustainable transformations in fire-prone territories. Her experience is linked to qualitative methods applied largely in the Mediterranean context. 

She works from a social science perspective in interdisciplinary projects in areas related to wildfire risk, but also forest and disaster governance, rural and territorial development as well as innovation. She has worked with different methodologies such as in-depth interviews, content analysis, focus groups and innovation action implementation. 

She is also affiliated to the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC).
