Florencia’s expertise and interest lies in the area of human perceptions, focusing on how perceptions shape behaviours within complex systems. Florencia’s research applies a variety of interview and survey techniques, as well as a diverse set of analytical methods ranging from structural equation modelling to qualitative content analysis.

Florencia is currently conducting research on forest practitioners across Europe and their perceptions towards various climate-smart forestry practices. Before joining EFI, Florencia examined how local public administrators in Finland perceive wooden multistorey buildings in an effort to understand how these perceptions shaped the diffusion of such projects across the country.
