Juliet Achieng has been part of the EFI team supporting the FOREST EUROPE high-level political process under the chairmanship of Germany since 2022.

She previously worked in the UForest Project (European Alliance on Interdisciplinary Learning and Business Innovation for Urban Forests) and Green4C Project on innovating and promoting nature-based solutions for health, well-being, and social inclusion. She was a researcher in the “Green Jobs” project by the European Forest Institute (EFI), International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) and the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). She was also the deputy coordinator of the Joint IUFRO-IFSA Taskforce on Forest Education. 

She has an MSc. in Tropical and International Forestry from Georg-August Universität, Göttingen and a BSc. in Agroforestry and Rural Development from Moi University, Kenya. 

She has a keen interest in global forest research with her interests mainly being in forest-related-employment including green jobs in the forest sector, forest education as well as agroforestry and rural development. Her research experience spans across different continents-Africa, Asia and Europe. She has 7 years’ experience working in international organizations.
