
María González Delgado is a Communications Officer at EFI's Mediterranean Facility (EFIMED). She has a background in socio-environmental communication, strategic content creation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She holds an MSc in World Heritage Conservation from University College Dublin and a postgraduate degree in Environmental Ethics from Universitat Ramon Llull.
Before joining EFI, María led diverse projects at the intersection of conservation, storytelling, and community engagement. As Chief Operating Officer of Vigilante, she developed a storytelling-driven media platform focused on socio-environmental issues in Latin America. She has also contributed to conservation initiatives across Mexico, designing and implementing communication strategies that bridge scientific knowledge with local and Indigenous perspectives.
Her expertise includes science communication, visual content development, and stakeholder engagement. She has worked with international organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, Rainforest Alliance, and WWF, developing dissemination materials, facilitating participatory processes, and translating complex environmental issues into compelling narratives.
She is passionate about fostering inclusive narratives that highlight the interconnectedness of people, culture, and ecosystems.
