Researcher

Mats is a researcher in the Resilience Programme. He holds a MSc degree in forest sciences and forest ecology from the Georg-August University Göttingen, Germany. His research is focussed on the interactions between forest ecosystem service provisioning and forest management under ongoing climate change with transforming disturbance regimes. In his work, he uses quantitative methods, such as forest modelling, to explore management, climate and disturbance scenarios regarding ecosystem service provisioning shifts. Currently, he is involved in the project LEARNFORCLIMATE that investigates links between policy, social and science learning.

Key topics: Forest modelling; Climate change impacts, adaptation and mitigation; Forest management and ecosystem service provisioning
