Mesele is a Senior Expert at Biocities Facility of European Forest Institute. His current works emphasis on agroforestry, landscape restoration and biodiversity conservation in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Prior to joining EFI, he worked at various research and development projects as an educator, principal investigator, project coordinator and project manager in East Africa. He also participated in several collaborative research and development projects (e.g., in agroforestry, climate smart agriculture) with different European Universities, CIFOR-ICRAF and UNDP. He also worked as an extension expert and lecturer for the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Education in Ethiopia respectively.
