Romuald Vaudry holds a BTEC in Forest Management and a Master’s degree in integrated land-use planning by AgroParisTech (Paris, France). He initially worked in France as a forestry consultant for private landowners before moving to Sub-Saharan Africa (Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Senegal) to help implement programs aimed at combating deforestation (REDD+ initiatives). Working at the European Forest Institute since 2020, he has been involved in the activities of the EU-REDD Facility and the Sustainable Cocoa Programme in Cameroon and Côte d‘Ivoire before currently supporting the implementation of the PASSAD and Nature Sud-Est programmes in the same countries. He is also the manager of a forest group of 30 people that own 80 ha of forests in the Pyrenees, applying there Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF) principles.
