The Global Timber Tracking Network is organizing a Regional Stakeholder Meeting in Africa on 27-28 June 2018 in Yaoundé, Cameroon (participation is by invitation).

In collaboration with Biodiversity International, this workshop aims to increase awareness amongst African stakeholders from the field of research, government and non-governmental institutions, development partners, and private sector about GTTN, and the growing potential of timber tracking techniques to help curb illegal logging in Africa.

The workshop will also provide the opportunity to map existing capacities, develop strategic partnerships, and identify need for knowledge transfer and financial assistance.

Please contact gttn@efi.int for further information.

The GTTN promotes the operationalisation of innovative tools for species identification and for determining the geographic origin of wood to verify trade claims.
