Asinara national park (Friday 28 September) This trip is now fully booked!
The Asinara National Park, at approx. 50 km from Alghero, includes the island of Asinara and its coastal waters. The island’s coast is made of schist cliffs to the west, and wide bays and small beaches, typical of rias granite landforms, to the east. Its plant life includes 678 species, 29 of which are endemic of the Sardinian-Corsican region.

Montes forest (Friday-Saturday 28-29 September)
The Golfo di Orosei and Gennargentu National Park (35000 ha), at approx. 140 km from Alghero, includes the old-growth forest of the Supramonte, whose environment is characterized by carbonatic highlands and dolines, and examples of juniper, yew and holm oak, survivors of the uncontrolled cutting down by coalmen in the 19th century. The tour will end in Olbia at the International Airport of Olbia-Costa Smeralda.

Tentative schedule: departure from Alghero after the field trip at 6pm of Sept 28, arrival at Montes at 8.30 pm (dinner & lodging); morning of Sept 29 departure to old growth forest with 4WD pick ups; return to Olbia airport at 7 pm, or in Alghero at 9 pm
