The European Forest Institute (EFI) is looking for candidates to fulfil one (1) Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) membership.

The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) contributes to the research and policy support activities of EFI. Its work includes anticipating future research needs, stimulating research and study initiatives, and monitoring EFI's activities. The SAB works as an independent body and it reports to the Board of EFI.

The SAB member will be appointed for a three-year period with the possibility of a three-year extension. The membership period starts according to the Board’s decision. The SAB members work on voluntary basis.

The SAB member should be internationally known expert with considerable scientific achievements and experience. To maintain the capacity of the SAB to meet the current and future needs of EFI, candidates with expertise in relation to Nature Based Solutions for cities or global forest governance are particularly encouraged to apply.

EFI Staff members are not eligible to apply.

Interested candidates are requested to send their full CV and a signed Letter of Interest and Commitment (see the link below) by 2 August 2019 by using the online application form (see the link below). The Board of EFI will select the new SAB member in September 2019.
