Are you interested in an international career? Would you like to learn about forests and forest management in seven European countries with a cohort of students coming from all over the world? Master of Science in European Forestry (MSc EF) is a top-class taught Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme (EMJM) in the field of sustainable forest management focusing on the challenges related to climate change, provision of ecosystem services, supporting bioeconomy and maintaining biodiversity. It is offered by a Consortium of seven leading European Full Partner universities from Austria, Finland (coordinator), France, Germany, Romania, Spain and the Netherlands. In addition, Associated Partner Universities from Albania, Brazil, Canada, China, Moldova, Nigeria, South Africa, Ukraine, and US and several Associated Industrial/Public/NGO Partners worldwide contribute to programme. It is one of the first EMJM programmes that has been accredited according to the European approach for quality assurance of the joint programmes. 

The special features of MSc European Forestry 

  • During your studies you will study in at least two European top-quality universities.
  • Studies include a one-month long field course that takes you to Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Romania and the Netherlands (countries visited may vary between the years) and an internship of two months.
  • Upon graduation you would receive a double/joint MSc degree certificate.
  • Insurance will be provided to all students enrolled in the programme.
  • Annual Consortium fee for students coming from non-EU/EEA countries is 9 000 EUR and there are no Consortium fees for students coming from EU/EEA countries.
  • Erasmus Mundus scholarships (incl. a monthly subsistence allowance of 1400 EUR/month for a max. of 24 months and 100% Consortium fee waiver) will be available for the best selected applicants (both non-EU/EEA and EU/EEA applicants).
  • Partial Consortium fee waivers (covering 50–75% of the Consortium fees) will be available for the selected non-EU/EEA applicants who cannot receive Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
