Video on Indonesia’s preparations for the EU Deforestation Regulation
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) focuses on the production and trade of seven commodities and their products, including five of strategic importance in Indonesia: palm oil, rubber, coffee, cocoa and wood. As the world’s largest producer of palm oil, as well as an exporter of other EUDR-relevant commodities, Indonesia is working to ensure its supply chains are ready to meet the EUDR’s requirements.
A new video produced by the KAMI project outlines the work under way in Indonesia to prepare for implementation of the EUDR. It looks at areas including traceability, smallholder inclusion, reducing deforestation, forest mapping and district sustainability.
Activities highlighted in the video include acceleration of smallholder registration, development of a traceability platform, establishment of a National Dashboard for Sustainable Commodity Data and Information, and the launch of district-level Sustainable Jurisdictions Indicators.
