About the publication
This scoping study assesses the implications, readiness and potential impacts of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) across nine eastern and southern Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. Combining trade-data analysis with stakeholder consultations, it maps exposure to the EUDR, identifies compliance challenges and opportunities, and outlines priority actions for governments, businesses and civil society. Prefaces by the UfM and EFI highlight the region’s strategic role as a processing and transit hub and the urgency of targeted support to build traceability and due-diligence capacity.

Who is it for?
Policymakers, competent authorities, port and customs officials, business and industry associations, SMEs, researchers and practitioners working on sustainable supply chains, trade and forest-risk commodities in the Mediterranean context.
