EFI Strategy 2040 – full draft - EFI Network survey results (July 2025)
This document presents a summary of feedback from EFI Member Countries and EFI Associate and Affiliate member organisations on the draft EFI Strategy 2040, gathered through an online consultation (June–July 2025). Overall, the feedback shows strong support for the strategy’s direction, structure, and core elements.
Respondents appreciated the clarity and relevance of the vision, mission, goals, and strategic themes. The consultation also highlighted areas where the strategy could be further strengthened, including suggestions to refine language, sharpen focus, and improve alignment with wider policy and societal contexts.
Recommendations were made to enhance clarity, improve implementation tools, and address underrepresented perspectives. The insights gathered through this process will inform the final version of the Strategy 2040 and support the development of a practical and inclusive implementation plan.

This document summarises feedback from EFI member organisations on the draft Strategy 2040, primarily collected via an online survey and complemented by a follow-up webinar. Overall, members expressed strong support for the strategy’s vision, mission, strategic objectives, and themes, appreciating its clarity, ambition, and long-term relevance. The inclusiveness of the development process was also positively noted.Respondents emphasised the need for a clearer link between strategic objectives and EFI’s practical work, as well as stronger alignment with evolving European and international policy contexts. They also called for improved stakeholder engagement, greater visibility, and more effective communication of EFI’s role.
A recurring recommendation was to define more concrete priorities, indicators, and implementation tools. These insights will guide the development of a Strategy Implementation Plan, which will translate the strategic framework into five-year operational cycles, with measurable objectives and closer integration with policy and practice.
