We are pleased to announce that our upcoming conference will take place in the context of EU Green Week 2025, on June 4–5 in Brussels. While the in-person event is by invitation only, a live-streamed online session on June 5 from 09:00 to 13:00 (CET) will be open to all. [Register here.]

This joint conference is a collaborative effort between nine EU-funded research projects: CLEVER, BioValue, Rainforest, Bamboo, Bedrock, BioAgora, Bionext, BioTraces, and TRANSPATH. Together, these projects aim to develop actionable knowledge on how European economies can thrive while minimizing their impact on biodiversity—both within the EU and globally.

The conference will bring together policy makers, technical experts, and representatives from major business and civil society organizations. Through panel discussions and interactive sessions, participants will explore strategies to reduce the ecological footprint of the EU’s food and biomass imports, with a particular focus on initiatives like the EU Regulation on Deforestation-free Products.
