Wild nuts and berries are facing several issues that threaten the evenness of their provision. Climate change and different exotic pests and diseases are of paramount relevance for the successful management of these products.
The Second Inter-regional Workshop on “Wild harvested nuts and berries in time of new pests, diseases and climate change”, organised through the ‘Innovation Networks of Cork, Resins and Edibles in the Mediterranean basin’ (INCREDIBLE) project, will take place in Palencia, Spain, from June 12-14, 2019.
This workshop aims to provide helpful insights for both public and private stakeholders about the current situation, the effect of climate change, the damages caused by pest and diseases and how to combat them.
The Workshop is open to 30-40 participants from the Wild nuts and berries sector, forest administrations, forest science & technology, certification agencies or anyone who may be interested in the topic and willing to share experiences and knowledge by participating in the group works and discussions scheduled in the workshop.
This event is organised by the Wild Nuts & Berries innovation network within INCREDIBLE through the Spanish National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA, in Spanish) and the collaboration of the Sustainable Forest Management Research Institute (iuFOR).
