EFI Mediterranean Network News is back: let's start 2024 with lots of activities on the horizon!
New year, fresh start! The first issue of the EFI Mediterranean Network News 2024 focuses on a development cooperation initiative in Lebanon that was successfully undertaken by the European Forest Institute's Mediterranean (EFIMED) Facility with the help of the Barcelona Provincial Council. Don't miss this success story, which strives to empower local towns and communities to protect biodiversity and cultural heritage!
Among other topics covered in the newsletter are the most recent updates on the EU-funded HoliSoils project, the long-awaited pre-launch event for the EU-Farmbook platform, and the recent ResAlliance general assembly, which focused on landscape resilience, agriculture, and forestry in the Mediterranean.
Furthermore, EFI Researcher Carmen Rodriguez explains in a blog post the role of the Spanish Office for Science and Technology (Oficina C), a body that connects scientists with legislators in the Spanish Congress, which uses a unique method to gather and summarise scientific evidence for policymakers.
As ever, this edition includes calls, upcoming events, and publications from all over the Mediterranean, as well as items of interest from elsewhere.
