The November edition of the EFI Mediterranean Network News highlights key developments from the 8th Mediterranean Forest Week (8MFW), held in Barcelona from 4–7 November. The event brought together nearly 300 experts to address critical challenges such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, and forest resilience.

Also featured in this issue are ongoing efforts to build climate resilience in Mediterranean forests, notably through the ResAlliance project and the EU-FarmBook platform. These initiatives emphasise the importance of research, data-sharing, and stakeholder collaboration in tackling climate hazards. The focus on nature-based solutions is further highlighted by the Mediterranean Biodiversity Consortium’s call for grants to support biodiversity and ecosystem resilience projects across the region.

This edition also covers the launch of the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA) in the UK, which advocates for a nature-first economy, and the FORWARDS project’s call for proposals to improve forest climate impact monitoring. Additional opportunities include study visits for innovation in forestry through the FOREST4EU project and scholarships for sustainable development at KU Leuven, all contributing to the region’s drive towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
