Gearing up for a spring full of forest-themed events!
EFI’s Mediterranean network started February at full speed and is eager to share with our followers and subscribers all the news of the shortest month of the year, as well as all the events to come!
In this edition’s top story, EFIMED features the new Italy’s National Forestry Strategy, a very important milestone for the country that provides a 20-year framework for national and regional forestry policies in line with international and European commitments on climate change, biodiversity protection and socio-economic development. The relevance of this document lies in its consultative and participatory nature, in which experts and organisations from the public and private sectors have been involved in a process that has lasted more than two years.
Moreover, in line with the upcoming International Day of Forests (21 March), we have listed a selection of events and webinars on different forest-related topics (forest health, forest soils, forest biodiversity conservation, the role of forests in a sustainable transition…) that will take place over the next month in face-to-face, digital and hybrid formats, and we don’t want you to miss them (so get your agenda and note down all the dates!).
As ever, this edition includes calls, job opportunities, upcoming events, and publications from all over the Mediterranean, as well as items of interest from elsewhere.
