Marc Palahí steps down as EFI Director

After leading the European Forest Institute for the last nine years, Director Marc Palahí has decided to look for new challenges outside EFI, and will leave his position on 31 May 2023.

The EFI Board is charged with overseeing the process and together with the Secretariat will ensure an effective and smooth transition. At the meeting of the EFI Board in Rome on 18-19 April, Deputy Director Robert Mavsar was assigned as the Interim Director of EFI as of 1 June 2023, until the new Director starts the position.

The announcement for the new Director position will be published by the end of May.
