EFI launches new policy brief series
EFI's relaunched policy brief series brings together scientific knowledge on policy-relevant topics in a short, easy-to-read format for all readers, in particular policymakers.
The first publication in the series How can we effectively maintain and enhance forest biodiversity in Europe? was launched at Forest Europe’s first High-Level Policy Dialogue, ‘Sustainable Forest Management: Unlocking forest biodiversity’s potential’, which took place on 30 August.
Lead author Bart Muys presented the policy brief and associated From Science to Policy study, which focuses on the issue of forest biodiversity in Europe.
The policy brief looks at what is at stake (including the external and internal threats to biodiversity) and presents recommendations for what we should do for forest biodiversity management and how the policy landscape and finance should respond.
EFI’s Assistant Director for Policy Support Helga Pülzl, who is editor-in-chief of the series, said: "With the new EFI policy series we aim to make cutting-edge knowledge more accessible to an interested audience, but in particular policymakers who can lead change".
